program description

Gulf Coast Social Services opened the Trappey House in 1984 on Guidry Street in Lafayette. The community home is a 6-bed facility designated for adult men with developmental disabilities.

The Trappey House has 24-hour staff coverage and offers consumers a home-like environment where they can acquire the skills necessary to live as independently as possible in the community.

services provided

A comprehensive assessment is completed on each resident of Trappey House at time of entry and annually thereafter. Using the information gathered during the evaluation, the Interdisciplinary Team creates a treatment plan based on the individual’s strengths, needs, and desired outcomes while a resident of the facility.

Plan goals and objectives are evaluated regularly to measure progress.
