DONATING YOUR VEHICLE OR BOAT?
Gulf Coast Social Services maintains its Vehicle
and Boat Donations Program Headquarters in the Baton Rouge
regional office. Vehicles can be picked up in parts of Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
Gulf Coast Social Services accepts used cars, trucks,
boats, motorcycles, construction equipment, and RV donations
to help defray the cost of our human service programs. Your
donations will aid children who are neglected and abused,
people with mental and physical disabilities, and families
in crisis by maintaining and expanding our programs.
GCSS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and contributions
are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Donating to the Vehicle and Boat Donation
program may even save you more money than selling your vehicle
and could save you time and inconvenience. We make all the arrangements

A representative will answer any questions you might have
concerning our agency or the donation procedure. Keep in mind,
we are not authorized to give tax advice.
After we have your name, address, telephone number, vehicle
description, title number and Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN), we will fax a pickup order to our towing service. They
will then call you to schedule a convenient time and place
to pick up the vehicle. Please sign the title on the back
where it reads,"Signature of Seller(s)" in the first
assignment (first paragraph).

When the pickup agent comes to pick up the vehicle, he or
she will have a copy of the donation receipt, and you will
need to furnish the keys. Please make sure that all personal
belongings have been taken out of the vehicle, and that the
license plate has been removed and turned into the Department
of Motor Vehicles before canceling your insurance.
We will mail you the Official Donation Receipt, the appropriate
tax forms, and a copy of the notarized title.
