GCTFS receives HPRP Grant 09/21/2009
A few months ago, GCTFS Baton Rouge submitted a grant request for the 2009 Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), funded through HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) and the City of Baton Rouge. The grant is part of the National American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for which Congress designated $1.5 billion to provide homeless prevention assistance throughout the 50 states. The Baton Rouge office just received notification that they were awarded $149,641 to be expended over the next three years. These funds will assist our clients who are in danger of becoming homeless with security deposits and rental/utility assistance for a very brief period to help them in their effort to gain or maintain self sufficiency.
