One of Lafayette's newest programs, LaChip, had 67 people attend its first Covering Kids and Families (CKF) Coalition Luncheon on April 29. The purpose of CKF coalition is to increase awareness of Medicaid and LaChip through education and advocacy while building community partnerships. The members participated in a Coalition icebreaker where they came together as a group to determine a song that described the group as a whole. Latonia Miller-Harrison, Program Director, hosted the event. The participants included GCTFS and Volunteers of America Coalition members from Lafayette, St. Landry, and St. Martin parishes.
