A Day Trip to New Orleans 07/31/2008

When Emma Brown learned that her consumer, Carolyn, wanted to go on a cruise this year but could not afford it, she decided she would do something special with her client. Emma talked to Carolyn about spending a day in New Orleans.
Carolyn and Emma invited others consumers and their caregivers to come along on the July 21 trip. The little group (comprised of Emma Brown, Barbara Carter, Laura Cage, Kelley Rheams, Carolyn B., Pauline H., Cedric J., and Lakeisha V.) got together and planned their day. Their first stop was Lafreniere Park, in Metaire (a suggestion of Barbara Carter), where they enjoyed the beautiful site and a lovely picnic provided by GCTFS. Then they visited the Aquarium, walked by the Hilton Hotel and the Riverwalk Mall. Later, they dined at the Crazy Lobster Restaurant. After dinner they took a relaxing walk down Canal Street where they bought t-shirts and other souvenirs.

You can view pictures of their day out in our photo gallery.
