YOUTH TRACKERS/ MENTORS

*Several positions available at GCSS locations throughout the State.

The Part-time and Full-time Mentor and Trackers positions are available. Responsible for providing mentoring and/or tracking services to high risk youth. Also, responsible for developing meaningful mentoring relationships with each youth assigned, meeting youth's needs as they relate to the goals of his/her Individual Treatment/Intervention Plan (ITP/IIP).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services related field is preferred, with a minimum of one-year experience working with high-risk youth, or a High School Diploma with an equivalent combination of three years' experience working with at-risk or high-risk youth.
  • The position requires a reasonable combination of the following: relationship building and mentoring youth, client advocacy, case management, public relations, and community resource development.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, the ability to represent the Agency in a highly professional manner, and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Good judgment, initiative, proven ability to organize and prioritize work, to meet deadlines, schedule appointments, and complete all required documentation within the timelines of the contract.
  • A valid Louisiana driver's license, current liability insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle in safe operating condition with a current inspection sticker.
