Moving Upward is a program federally funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that provides assistance to persons 18 or older who are homeless and live in
Assumption, Lafourche, and Terrebonne.
Moving Upward help link those individuals to needed resources, such as shelters, mental health services, child support, disability benefits, and food banks.

Services offered to individuals include:
- Financial support
- Locating housing
- Counseling
- Skills training (such as budgeting, hygiene, job skills)
- Interviewing techniques
- Any other basic needs the individual may require
This program has a waiting list. While an
individual is awaiting program placement they may receive a few basic services
such as assistance with obtaining childcare and other resources referrals. These resources and skills offered to our clients allow them to be involved in the community and improve their quality of life.

eligibility
Any person 18 or older who is homeless and live in
Assumption, Lafourche, or Terrebonne parish may be eligible for this program.
