Baton Rouge Celebrates Coordinators! 06/24/2011
This month, GCSS Baton Rouge celebrates the first annual Coordinator Appreciation Month. Part of a new employee appreciation plan for the region, June was designated as the month to recognize the supervisors in our waiver and state plan programs. The coordinators work tirelessly to make sure that each of our consumers with disabilities receive the services they need to allow them to live as independently as possible within the community.
The month began with posters and flyers, showcasing pictures and bios for all of the coordinators, which were distributed throughout the office. The Program Directors and Director of Waiver and Vocational Services kicked into high gear, planning an appreciation luncheon and contacting potential donors for the event. Baton Rouge Regional Director, Ms. Gloria Ethridge, also recognized the coordinators during the Agency staffing on June 16, providing them with a hint of the festivities to come. On June 20, the Coordinators were all summoned to the training room to enjoy their day. Some very grateful supervisors and administrative personnel made sure the coordinators felt special, serving a fantastic lunch followed by ice cream donated by Kleinpeter Farms Dairy.
After lunch, the games began. The coordinators and administrative personnel split into two teams, and the games turned out to be quite interesting and competitive, to say the least! After a lively competition, the coordinators won door prizes donated by Massage Emporium and Rave Motion Pictures. All in all, it was a special day for some very deserving coordinators. A special thanks goes out to our hard working supervisors and donors for the event: you are all greatly appreciated!
