Irma Lang Retires After 14 Years of Loyal Service 02/14/2011
Friday, February 11, the Hammond office hosted a retirement party for Ms. Irma Lang, celebrating her 14 years of employment with the Agency. Irma joined GCSS in 1997 at an age where most people think about retirement. For the past 14 years, Irma worked with Jason R. and his family, assisting them a few hours a day, including picking up Jason at the Activity Center every afternoon or driving him to bowling practice on Monday nights.
GCSS is very sad to lose such a valuable member, as her supervisor, Christy Kling, commended Irma for her dedication and work ethics, being a role model for other direct care workers. Elizabeth Wagner, staff nurse, also praised Irma for her eagerness to get on her hands and knees and learn how to give CPR, being such a great example for others to follow.
Ms. Irma will be greatly missed by all her coworkers (as well as her renowned strawberry cake, whose recipe is available in our cookbook!)
